Karen Cassmeyer is the Vice President of National Conventions & Trainings. In her capacity, she oversees the in-house event planning company for Team National/National Companies.

A St. Louis native, Karen graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a BSBA in Accounting. After graduation, Karen spent her summer working at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, where she realized her passion for the hospitality industry.

She then joined the Marriott Corporation in St. Louis. For the next 10 years, Karen took on many different roles at various Marriott Properties including those in Vail, CO, Bermuda, Atlanta, GA and Marco Island, FL.

Then, in the summer of 1996, a once in a lifetime opportunity presented itself, and without hesitation, she gladly joined the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as the Director of Guest Services.

In 2008, she was asked to join the company full-time as their in-house Meeting Planner, which she readily accepted. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to Vice President of National Conventions & Trainings, the in-house meeting planning company for Team National / National Companies.

These experiences gave her many great memories such as meeting four US Presidents and royalty from foreign countries. Her work with many of the professional athletic teams gave her an opportunity to meet the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Byrd. She has also met several NFL players, MLB players from most of the National League to include her favorite Cardinals such as Stan Musial, Ozzie Smith and Joe Torre. In addition to the Olympic Games, Karen worked with the NFL on two Super Bowls, an MLB All Star Game and the NCAA on the Final Four. Sporting events aside, she also worked on a Democratic National Convention. Working with associations and corporate clients, including direct-selling companies, are also part of the experiences that she treasures today.

Once again, the hospitality industry beckoned Karen. As a result, she joined both the Westin Hotel and the Hyatt Hotel chains in Atlanta, as the Associate Director of Catering & Convention Services.

While working in the hospitality industry, Karen additionally pursued a career as a Freelance Meeting Planner. In 1999, Karen first worked with Team National as an on-site coordinator for their National Conventions. Karen maintained a close working relationship with Team National over the next 8 years.

Karen is a Certified Meeting Professional and Learning Environment Specialist. She currently resides in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
